Riding Lizards! (w/ Rooke for size comparison)
by Player RookeTwo rough conceptual sketches of RfC-original exotic reptiles, tamed and popularly used as mounts around Minnesota. The appropriate learned skill is required, as well as a saddle, reins, and bit. Riding Lizzies are generally placid and bored-looking, none too bright, and prefer warm temperatures (being prone to going catatonic in freezing temperatures). They're omnivores, eating fruits and veggies, but accepting raw meat whenever they can easily get it. Note that Rooke is about 5'8" in those heels. Individual descriptions follow.

The typical size and appearance of the Racing Lizard, also called Leaping Lizard by certain silly people. Powerful hind legs, and big toes, propel the reptile up and forward at max speeds of 90mph (ideal terrain!), with a jumping distance of 12ft straight up, 15ft across from a standing position, and 30ft running. The boney horns in the knees and shoulder blades are ideal for mounting up and holding on, as well as steering the lizzie, however the inexperienced rider can easily have their torso pinched and/or crushed by the shoulder horns when the creature gets into a fight, so they're usually cut short. It can carry about 250lbs easily, and has a pretty tough hide.

The larger Standard Riding Lizard is just a little larger in mass than a good horse, though lower to the ground, and similarly, can carry a burden behind the saddle, and/or another passenger in a pinch (around 450lbs total). It runs about 40mph max (ideal terrain) on its toes, but doesn't really like to jump around. While also quite stoic as far as tamed mounts go, it has been known to actually recognize its owner at ten paces, and sometimes even respond to kindness by genuinely giving a damn about its owner's well-being. Good Lizzie!
