Welcome, brave soul, to the city-state of Tolkeen, a post-apocalyptic land struggling to maintain and defend the ragged principles of Freedom, Knowledge, and Virtue. Its enemies are numerous, of both Humankind and supernatural dominion, who mean to plunge it back into darkness and chaos. Several times they have very nearly succeeded, but always Tolkeen has prevailed, for by some extraordinary chance, the people have among them a strange breed of individuals. They are the men, women and beings called Player-Characters (PCs), each created and empowered by the imagination of a writer.
