Tolkeen Territory and Beyond - by Centauri - Point Mouse to see details

Ruins of the Duluth Xiticix Hive Ruins of the Barony of Markeen - Once a thriving city ruled by a heroic warlord Cyberknight, the encroachment of the Xiticix sparked terrible conflict which led to the atomic destruction of the Barony. The repercussions of Baron Cromwell's insane act are still playing out today. Farming Village of Perseverance, Pop: 245 Farming/Fishing Village of Cold Ridge, Pop: 425 Farming Village of St. Cloud, Pop: 305 Hunting/Farming Village of North Gate, Pop: 440 Farming/Hunting Village of Homestead, Pop: 375 River Barony of Bathurst, Pop: 5,510 - Fishery and Naval Ammunitions. Ever since the fall of Markeen, the remaining north-most Barony has fallen into hard times. The people lack culture, education, and most of all, growth. The fallout from Markeen's destruction has made many people ill, and put a damper on the live birth rate of the populace. In the dirty, dying environs, the people remain for the still-needed industry, but their outlook is bleak. Features: River Access (harbor, ferry service twice a day), Low Magic Content, Modern Technology, 3 supporting villages, 2 of which were also affected by the fall of Markeen. Allied Kingdom of Port Hope, Pop: 45,000 Kingdom of Ishpeming, Pop: Unknown Plains Barony of Stonehaven, Pop: 6,050 - Masonry and Cattle Products. Here one finds a veritable mid-western setting, of ranchers and craftsmen in a rough and tumble town. A blend of unconventional morality and harsh laws enforced by the community as a whole sets the Barony apart from the rest. Features: Forest Access, Quarry Access, Grazing Land, Substandard Technology, Low Magic Content, 2 supporting villages. Lowland Barony of Cornwall, Pop: 7,100 - Food Production. Cornwall, not Bathurst, has the distinction of connecting directly to the kingdom of Port Hope and thereby other allied regions, by river-ley line transport. It has therefore grown more quickly than the north-most Barony, and is the second commercially rich town on Tolkeen territory. The access to fertile lowlands and temperate conditions yields a wide variety of crops, so the attitude of the wealthy merchant land owners is more earthy and long-lived than the glitzy drama of those of Albany. Features: River Access, Fertile Land, Medium Magic Content, Modern Technology, Port Hope ley line access, 2 supporting villages. Lowland Barony of Hindwatch, Pop: 5,250 - Fur Manufacturing and Lumber Products. Hunters and Lumberjacks, who could ask for anything more? A rustic town that relies on wood and leather as its main trade and style, the people similarly live close to nature, independent but friendly. Pioneer living at its pioneeriest, mmMM! Features: Forest Access, Substandard Technology, Low Magic Content, Grazing Lands, 2 supporting villages. Forest Barony of Lea, Pop: 3,320 - Arcane Products. Established as a Tolkeen Barony after numerous diplomatic negotiations, the hidden town remains mysterious to the majority of the territory. It's rumored to be a beautiful but savage settlement of supernatural beings, learned magi, and forest races. Features: Completely Hidden, Forest Access, High Magic Content, Ley line Access, Substandard Technology, no known supporting villages. Hills Barony of Highland Blade, Pop: 4,950 - Fine Garments and Finer Iron/Steel Products. A society of strong and proud warrior artisans, the people believe themselves fiercely independent from Tolkeen City. In reality, the mercantile minority grows steadily richer from trade, and threatens to compromise the Barony's cultural identity. The town is in the shadow of tall bluffs, and has quite a provincial look about it. Features: Grazing Lands, Substandard Technology, Forest Access, Medium Magic Content, Fortified Shelter, 2 supporting villages. Lake Barony of Innisport, Pop: 5,125 - - Fishery and Boat Building. Unlike Bathurst, this newest riverside town has a brighter future, and looks it. Founded after the war by Raan survivors, parts of the Barony are direct replicas of pre-ruin Raan, the oldest Tolkeen Barony. The people are prosperous but conservative, and harbor abiding hatred towards the Coalition, not to mention no small resentment towards Tolkeen for not being able to defend their original town from destruction. Features: River Access, Modern Technology, 2 supporting villages. Bayside Barony of Albany, Pop: 6,400 - Entertainment and Luxuries. Located near a ley line connecting to the end of the Iron Horse Transport Line, the Barony enjoys an eclectic culture, and trade opportunities. The population is extremely wealthy, on the whole, with an amazing gap between the classes and dramatic stories of overnight commercial successes and devastating defeats. The people are thus generally frivolous sorts, and their industry is in hospitality, luxury, and artistic works. Starting to sound like Hollywood. The somewhat sprawling bay-side town looks sparkling and majestic from afar and on the surface, with elaborate, dreamlike construction. But a longer visit will make clear the corruption and cruelty that goes on in the presence of such decadence. Features: Harbor, Modern Technology, Medium Magic Content, Iron Horse ley line access, 2 supporting villages. Mountain Barony of Windmark, Pop: 4,875 - Airship Manufacturing and Technowizardry Vehicle Parts. A technological culture, the people of Windmark are typically intelligent, pre-occupied, and mechanical-minded. Technowizards comprise the bulk of the magic contingent, the highest concentration of that discipline outside of Stormspire. The look of the Barony is fantastic and intriguing, like being inside a giant clock. All manner of airships float in the wind shelter of the mountains to the north and east. Features: Technologically Advanced, High Magic Content, Ley line access, Fortified Shelter, 2 supporting villages. Farming/Fishing Village of Wyrvane, Pop: 540 Tolkeen Cemetery for Fallen Heroes Fishing Village of Paris, Pop: 580 - A popular vacationing spot for Tolkeenites. The Blue Heron Ferry stops here six times daily. There is nothing remotely french about it. Tolkeen Military Harbor - The fallen CS Fortress has been re-stationed here. Tolkeen City, Pop: 135,000 Farming/Hunting Village of Wind Over Shade, Pop: 195 - The most beautiful land in Tolkeen Territory is found in the valley of Tephra's spine. The Shrine of The Oracle of Delphi Mining Village of Mooselodge, Pop: 480 Mining/Monastic Village of Athens, Pop: 450 Rumored Location of the Knights' Shrine Ruins of the Barony of Raan Lumber Village of Auspice, Pop: 490 Fishing Village of Ellesmere, Pop: 375 Abandoned Village of Serenity Farming/Fishing Village of Constance, Pop: 460 Farming Village of Redemption, Pop: 270 Fishing Village of Breez, Pop: 210 Farming Village of Temperance, Pop: 350 Mountain Barony of Buckthorn, Pop: 3,800 - Metal Refining and Production. Set halfway into a mountain, with chalets and refineries trickling down the slope and connected by huge stairs and transport systems, this Barony is powered by a number of local waterfalls. It's mostly all business and made up of very hardy families of workers. They're not known for hospitality. No outsider is entirely sure how far the town recedes into the mountainside. Features: Fortified Shelter, Technologically Advanced, Unknown Magic Content, Unknown ley line access, 1 supporting village, 1 dead village. Mining/Monastic Village of Kismet, Pop: 380 - A Psychics' Retreat was founded near Kismet in 109 PA, during the Plague of Dreams.
